Keep your smile bright!
The government announced on Thursday that dentists are going back to work on 8th of June. This was communicated to us, not by our governing bodies, but by the BBC! All practices found out what was to happen at the same time as the general public!
We have had no real guidance and very mixed messages from the Chief Dental Officer, the NHS, the General Dental Council and our indemnity organisations. Despite all of this, our amazing teams have been working incredibly hard, researching and implementing new protocols and guidance as well as managing to resource all of the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in order for us to open safely, to emergencies only, from Monday 8th June.
At this time, we will be prioritising emergency care for patients and gradually phase in other treatments and face to face contact, on the condition that we can secure adequate volumes of PPE. You will be aware that PPE is in short supply worldwide and due to the fact that dentistry creates aerosols, we need the highest level of PPE – this is the same level of PPE that is required in hospital to treat COVID-19 patients and theatre.
Our teams have been running Church Street Dental Practice as an Urgent Dental Center during this pandemic and we are all well trained and experienced in dealing with this completely new situation we are finding ourselves in, so please be assured that when you do attend the practices, although it will be different than what you are used to, that you are in very safe hands.
Whilst we will not be able to provide anything beyond urgent treatments only at this time, as the goal posts are changing daily from our governing bodies, we are very much looking forward to seeing you, our patients, again and assist those of you who have been experiencing urgent dental care needs.
For your convenience, we are implementing a call back list. If you have not already contacted us to advise of your urgent care needs, please do contact our reception team, preferably by email email@example.com for NHS patients or firstname.lastname@example.org for our private patients. You can also contact us by telephone 01953 454358 for NHS patients or 01953 711300 for private patients. There is also a WhatsApp contact button on the websites if you prefer to get in touch by text. www.csdp.co or www.zandielle.com
Face to face appointments will be limited and we will do our very best to ensure all of our patient’s urgent dental needs are met as soon as we can, whilst ensuring both patients and staff remain safe at all times.
We thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times.
Take care, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can.
